The protection of the Eastern Mediterranean basin is becoming increasingly important due to environmental and water pollution. In particular, plastic wastes which are coming from land harm sea creatures, while wastes that reach the sea disrupt the ecosystem. In line with the importance it attaches to nature, Mersin Marina contributes to the prevention of water pollution by ensuring that all waste water from yachts is collected and disposed of. Upon requests from seafarers, all wastewater and used machine oils are transferred to tanks thanks to vacuum pumps in the automation system at the gray water & waste receiving stations. Wastes from yachts are taken to disposal facilities through licensed companies, preventing these wastes from mixing with nature.
